PREMIER - Chelsea leading the chase to sign West Ham United's star

Chelsea have reportedly decided to wait for the next summer to pursue a transfer for West Ham United star Declan Rice.

The 22-year-old versatile midfielder has been rumoured with a move away from East London, with the Red Devils also among the teams interested in his signature.

However, the West London club are confident that Rice will stay a Hammers player this campaign and they are preparing to chase the signing of the English midfielder next summer.

According to football.london, the Hammers valuation of £100m for the England international was considered too much by the current European giants, however, they will try to reduce that with talks next year.

Rice was released by the Blues academy when he was 14 years old, however, he joined West Ham’s academy shortly afterwards and has gone on to play 148 games for the senior side. The midfielder signed a new long-term deal at the London Stadium in 2018, which tied him to the team until the summer of 2024.
