Preview - Group A: Al Zawraa Club (IRQ) v Al Nassr (KSA)

Karbala: Iraq’s Al Zawraa will look to get back to winning ways when they host Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr to Karbala Sports City Stadium in Matchday Four of the 2019 AFC Champions League Group A on Tuesday.

Al Zawraa still occupy a qualification spot despite their defeat in the reverse fixture. The Iraqis had not lost nor conceded a goal prior to their trip to Riyadh a fortnight ago. Their first home match saw a crowd of over 27,000 fans.

Al Nassr, on the other side, finally kickstarted their Continental campaign with an impressive 4-1 victory over Al Zawraa two weeks ago, but they still find themselves bottom of the group with an inferior head-to-head record against third-placed Al Wasl.

Coach Rui Vitoria’s men go into the Matchday Four fixture with their minds partially focused on a heated Saudi Pro League title race which saw them top archrivals Al Hilal by a single point.

The fixture congestion means the Riyadh based side have opted to rest their foreign quartet for the trip to Karbala, which will further boost the hosts' chances on Tuesday.
