Real Madrid were dealt a major blow in their Champions League match against Wolfsburg on Wednesday evening, as sharpshooter Karim Benzema was brought off with an injury to his left knee.
Benzema suffered the injury after a collision with Wolfsburg defender Naldo in the 9th minute, with his reaction making it apparent that he had been hurt.
Despite bravely playing through the pain for half an hour, the forward hit a point where he could not go on any further shortly before half time, and was substituted by Zinedine Zidane.
Benzema, who has four goals in Europe so far this season, must now face tests to discover the severity of the problem.
