Manchester United have failed with an opening bid for Borussia Dortmund star Shinji Kagawa.

Kicker says United's opening offer fell well short of Dortmund's opening valuation of €17 million and were told to come back when they're serious.

The ball is now in United's court about whether to up their bid.

Ran says Kagawa has made it clear he only wants to move to United, despite late interest from Real Madrid.
