Real Madrid unveil new graffiti inspired away kit for 2021/22

Published on: 05 August 2021

Real Madrid have unveiled their new adidas away kit for the 2021/22 season, taking inspiration from Madrid's artistic culture for the design.

Local pride also played a part in the home shirt, which features a subtle spiral pattern designed to represent the fountains at Plaza de Cibeles - a popular spot among fans celebrating trophies.

For the away shirt, it's the iconic Malasana district which has inspired the design. The vibrant creativity of the region has been converted into an abstract graffiti pattern to reflect the artistic spirit of the Madrid supporters.

On top of base which is described as 'victory blue' are bright flashes of white for the Real Madrid badge, adidas logo and Emirates sponsorship, while 'lucky orange' is used for the adidas stripes and the neck.

On the neck is a special art-inspired Real logo to keep the street vibe of the shirt flowing from top to bottom.

The shirt is made with PRIMEGREEN technology, which focuses on the use of recycled materials to keep sustainability at the heart of the production, and adidas have also used their HEAT.RDY - KEEP COOL to promote air flow to allow players to feel cool and dry during play.

For replica shirts, it will be AEROREADY - FEEL READY technology used, which boosts the absorption of moisture to keep users dry throughout.

Before the official launch, a selection of fans and local influencers will be given the chance to tease the new shirt on social media as part of Real's attempts to bring fans closer to the action.

Fans will get their first glimpse of the new away shirt on Thursday when Real Madrid Women take on Sparta Prague, with the male team set to don the shirt on Sunday in their friendly against AC Milan.

The new Real Madrid away shirt is now available at adidas.com/rm, selected adidas stores and the Real Madrid club and online store, as well as selected retailers and fashion stores from August 12.
