Having beaten Sevilla FC and RCD Espanyol in their respective semi-finals, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid fought it out for the title in a mini-El Clasico. It was not until the 25th minute that the breakthough cam, just after the break. Paulo Iago’s left-foot shot would prove to be decisive, despite concerted pressure from Barça who came closest to levelling through Xavi Castellanos and Landry.

Semi-finals

Two of the favourites, Sevilla FC and FC Barcelona, fought it out in the first semi-final. Los Azulgranas took the lead through Landry, though Sevilla quickly struck back to level with a goal from Ibra. Landry grabbed his second of the game and Lamine Yamal made sure of the result with a third for a 3-1 win.  In the other semi-final, Real Madrid staged another memorable fightback to beat RCD Espanyol 2-1. Espanyol took the lead through Leo early on, but Paulo Iago and Marcos struck at the death to turn the game round.
