Redknapp takes charge of first Jordan training session

Amman: Harry Redknapp took charge of his first training session since being named the new head coach of Jordan.

The former Tottenham, Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth manager has been joined in Jordan by long-time assistant Kevin Bond who helped oversee training at the Amman International Stadium on Monday.

Redknapp recently signed a two-match deal during which he will guide Jordan through their 2018 FIFA World Cup/2019 AFC Asian Cup joint qualifiers against Bangladesh and Australia on March 24 and 29 respectively.

Things are extremely tight in Group B with only four points separating the top three, although reigning AFC Asian Cup champions Australia currently lead the way in top spot, two ahead of Jordan and a further two in front of Kyrgyzstan.

With the Socceroos and the Jordanians expected to claim victories over Tajikistan and Bangladesh, top spot could only be decided five days later when the two teams meet in in Sydney.
