Samuel Gyasi claims he was verbally abused by Hearts striker James Abban during their Premier League clash against Tema Youth.

Abban  was shown the marching off orders after he was seen exchanging words with the centre-man at the Tema sports stadium in their delayed meeting on Wednesday.

Some of the supporters have been critical of the two yellow cards shown to the promising attacker player but the Fifa referee insists he was justified after the player subjected him to torrent verbal abuse.

“There was an off-the-ball incident which I didn’t see. So I called him (Abban) to advise him to be careful,” Gyasi told Kumasi-based Fox FM

“Suddenly he started using abusive words on me without any provocation. And so I decided to send him off.

“He is young and as such I will advise him and the other players to be careful. If you exhibit such high level of disrespect to match officials, you may not be able to attain you potential.”

Abban will miss their next game against New Edubiase at the Accra  sports stadium on Sunday.
