Troubled Hearts of Oak received yet another blow in the ongoing G6 Tournament falling to resilient FA Cup winners Medeama SC by a lone goal.

Kenichi Yatsuhashi's men despite a convincing outing in their first game drew were forced to chase their own shadows by the Miners.

Malik Akowuah coolly converted a spot kick with less than ten minutes to end the game to end the Phobians hopes of annexing a trophy before the start of the season.

Referee Samuel Suker did not hesitate to whistle when Kwame Boahene was brought down in the eighteen by by Philip Boampong.

Medeama gave a positive account of themselves, dominating most parts of the proceedings and were unlucky to find a goal in the first department with Eric Kwakwa crashing the cross bar with a stunning strike from a free kick before Sarpong failed to head into a yawning net.

Hearts started the second half on a good note, creating decent chances and testing the agility of goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe.

However they fell asleep and Medeama took control and dictated play til the end.

Hearts of Oak Burkinabe goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye was named man of the match following a stellar display that denied Medeama the key to registering more goal in the game.

He made series of incredible stops but was comprehensively beaten by Akowuah.

Medeama who are using the competition as a dress rehearsal for their impending assignments in the CAF Confederation Cup will battle it out with Aduana on Saturday for the right to play in the finals on Sunday.
