Roma defender Antonio Rudiger has enjoyed his first season in Italy.
Rudiger is establishing himself as a first-choice at Roma after arriving from Stuttgart.
He told Deutsche Presse-Agentur, “Things didn't start in the best way for me, because I arrived with an injury, but then things sorted themselves out.
“I went through a difficult moment in which things weren't working for me or the team. I think back to the game against Torino, where I made a mistake, and at that time it was really tough for me.
“But I was never afraid to keep going. I knew that to emerge from that situation I had to grow up and I think I proved myself now.
“I am really happy here and what the media writes must be accepted in a professional manner. At no moment did I doubt my decision to come to Roma.
“I think that I have proved what I can do, so now it's up to others to decide whether I stay at Roma. I am very relaxed on this issue.
“If someone asked us if we'd sign for third place, today we probably would do. Clearly we are coming off a series of victories, but there's no need to get ahead of ourselves with title talk."
