Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan has been honoured with a plaque by US Sassuolo on the club’s 100th anniversary.

Duncan initially joined the Neroverdi on loan from Sampdoria before signing permanently for €6 million in 2016.

The 27-year-old established himself in the side, making 109 appearances and scoring 7 goals during his five-year stay in Emilia-Romagna.

The Mapei Stadium outfit which was formed on 17 July, 1920, turned 100 today (Friday).

In celebrating their centenary anniversary, Sassuolo have shown appreciation to Duncan for his services to the club by honouring him with a plaque.

The Ghana international is currently on the books of  Fiorentina after joining on loan with an obligation to buy for €15 million this summer.

Sassuolo have established themselves in the Italian top-flight since joining from Serie B in 2013/14 season.

The club is one of the few clubs playing in the Serie A but not belonging to a provincial capital city: Empoli, Legnano, Pro Patria, Carpi and Casale.
