A SuperSport TV cameraman was manhandled and had his equipment destroyed by an “uncultured’ machoman hired by Sekondi Hasaacas officials during their league match against AshantiGold on Sunday.

According to multiple sources, the action was initiated by a top official of the club.

Not even the intervention of PLB vice-chairman George Amoako, who was at the stadium, could convince Hasaacas CEO Nanabeyin Eyison, who is a Ghana FA Executive Committee member, to reverse his decision.

The club’s stock excuse for refusing the crew coverage was that they did not show up at the pre-match technical meeting.

SuperSport wanted to cover the match to serve as content for an upcoming highlights show and also for AshGold TV which airs on some selected platforms of the Pay TV channel.

It is unknown why Hasaacas were adamant in preventing the cameras from capturing the match.

In the end, AshantiGold’s Kadri Mohammed headed in the equalizer with two minutes remaining after Eric Bekoe gave the home side in the 1-1 draw.
