Senegal Sports Minister Matar Ba has disclosed that national team head coach Aliou Cissé will have his salary increased next year.

Ba made the revelation at the reading of his department's budget for the year 2019 on Sunday.

"We are in dialogue with the Football Federation, I can assure you that we are working intelligently with regards to the national team coach, we can inform you that we are working to re-value his salary," Ba stated.

''We must remember that we are the ones who paid his salary until then, we acceded to the request of the Federation to appoint a locally based as head coach of the national team."

Ba insisted that the sports ministry trust Cissé's expertise and thus leading to the salary increment.

"And it is because we believe in the expertise of the local coach that's why we have acceded to the request for the upgrading his salary," he added.

Cissé led the Teranga Lions to their second World Cup appearance in June this year and has already booked a place in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
