Sensational Maxwell Baako shares glory with team mates; promises more goals

Published on: 23 February 2016

High-flying Wa All Stars forward Maxwell Baako has commended his team mates for the two goals he scored in the side’s side 3-0 walloping of Sekiondi Hasaacas in the opening match of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League.

Baako, 18, opened the scoring earlier in the game, provided an assist for Richard Arthur to score the second before adding his second and Wa All Stars’ third to complete the humiliation of the visitors.

But the humble and talented finisher has refused to take the glory alone commending the entire team for good start.

“I did not score the goals individually. I scored because my teammates wanted me to score. So they deserve the commendation,” Baako said after the game.

“I cannot guarantee goals on weekly basis but will surely add to my goal tally in the coming days. I just want to enjoy my football, stay injury free and see where I will end up at the end of the season,” he added.

Baako was the only player who registered brace over the weekend and sits on top of the goal king chart.
