Winner – Francesco Totti

Being a super-sub works out pretty well for Roma’s talisman. Despite his complaints last season about his lack of minutes on the pitch, Totti’s current role with the Giallorossi allows the 39-year-old to enhance his living-legend status, exactly what he did this weekend.

With Roma facing an embarrassing home defeat at the hands of Sampdoria, Totti entered the pitch and completely transformed the match, providing a stunning assist for Edin Dzeko to equalise before converting an injury-time penalty with his usual tranquil style.

Ideally, Roma coach Luciano Spalletti would not still have to rely on Totti’s abilities, especially as the 39-year-old is evidently feeling the effects of his age. Spalletti will have to make sure that I Lupi start defending better to make sure Roma aren’t in need of Totti miracles every weekend.
