Ghana’s captain Mercy Myles was missing from the Black Princesses team that arrived back home late Tuesday night after winning silver at the All Africa Games.

Delays in pre-departure formalities in Maputo was the reason given for the conspicuous absenteeism and will return with the male U-23 team on Wednesday dawn according to officials.

The team was met on arrival by officials from the National Sports Authority, the Ghana FA and an appreciable presence of supporter union group ‘Die Hard’.

The U-20 team defied all odds but fell short in the end to clinch second spot after going down 1-0 to a physical Cameroonian side in the grand finale.

Nevertheless, the result at this year’s tourney is a massive improvement of the previous competition in Algiers where the senor team, the Black Queens won bronze.

The team has since checked into the Mariset Hotel in Accra where they will be based until camp is broken.
