South African side Maritzburg United prepared for Richard Ofori exit

Maritzburg United coach Eric Tinkler says he is prepared to face the probability that star goalkeeper will have to move from the South African club at the end of the season.

The Black Stars number one has been linked with a move away from Maritzburg due to his splendid form in the PSL his term.

He has kept an impressive 10 clean sheets in 24 matches and has conceded just 17 goals.

Belgian side Gent, as well as South African sides Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, are the clubs reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

Tinkler is fully aware of the situation and is expecting that he will have to do without Ofori.

"There’s always going to be that situation you know. We are going to have the bigger clubs looking for talented players," Tinkler told KickOff.com.

"Rushine has had a very good season, so has Richard you know. But the club has dealt with those situations in the past, and we will deal with them again whatever the outcome is."

"There always has to be a plan B [laughs]. You can’t just plan for one thing. You’ve always got to be ready for other circumstances that may arise, so we’ve already planned for that. So we will be fine."

Ofori has been nominated for the 2019/20 South African PSL best player award and the goalkeeper of the season award.
