Sporting Gijon risk losing Isaac Coffie ahead of the Asturian derby

Sporting de Gijon could miss Ghanaian midfielder Isaac Coffie for the Asturian derby against Real Oviedo in a fortnight time, if the player picks a yellow against Cordoba on Sunday.

The former Genoa midfielder has accumulated four yellow cards already in the season and if he picks another against Cordoba this weekend, it rules him out of the game against Oviedo.

Isaac Coffie has become an important member of the Rojiblancos and played crucial roles in back to back victories over Numancia and Almeria.

Coach Jose Alberto Lopez Menendez could be in a huge dilemma as to whether to risk the player for the game on Sunday or keep him on the bench for the big one against Real Oviedo.

The Asturian derby is well-known as one of the strongest, most heated in Spanish football between the two big clubs in Asturia.
