Stade Rennais winger Kamaldeen Sulemana to miss Nantes clash despite returning to training

Kamaldeen Sulemana will miss Stade Rennais' trip to FC Nantes on Wednesday in the French Ligue 1, according to manager Bruno Genesio.

The Ghana international returned to training this week after two months out with a back injury.

However, Stade Rennais coach Bruno Genesio won't rush the Black Stars winger back in the team as they travel to play newly crowned French Cup winner FC Nantes.

“Alfred Gomis is back. Kamaldeen Sulemana and Loïc Badé will be absent in Nantes but I have high hopes that they can apply against Marseille. Nayef Aguerd will be suspended," he said.

Sulemana is expected to make an appearance on Saturday when Rennais host Olympique Marseille.

The 20-year-old moved to the French Ligue 1 from the Danish side Nordsjallaend for a fee of around €20 million.

He hit the ground running right away, scoring a spectacular goal against Lens. Sulemana went on to score three more goals and add two assists, finishing the first round as one of the team's best players.

However, injury has marred the youngster's second half of the season.

Sulemana was a member of the Black Stars squad that was eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations group stage earlier this year.

He did not, however, make the squad that defeated Nigeria to secure World Cup qualification because he was injured.
