Ghana youth striker Benjamin Tetteh has escaped sanctions by the Belgian Football Association Dispute Commission (URBSFA) despite being captured on camera to have punched Kortrijk defender Maxime Chanot.

The incident happened on the blind side of referee Sébastien Delferière but the Belgian League Review Commission decided to pursue the matter.

Tetteh was facing a one-game suspension and a fine of 400 euros but that was rejected.

This was after the Appeal Board ruled that: "It appears from the television pictures that Chanot was running in the direction of Tetteh who unwittingly gave protection to the ball.

"Therefore, it’s is not a voluntary move which could harm the opponent.”

The ruling ensured Tetteh was available for selection and was a 77th minute substitute in Standard Liege’s 0-0 draw at Waasland-Beveren.
