Stevanovic: Ghana getting better under me

Published on: 12 February 2012

Coach Goran Stevanovic is adamant Ghana is an improved side despite their disappointing end at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars failed in their bid to win a fifth continental title after 30-years in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Even a respectable third place eluded the team which many tipped to win the title in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The Serbian trainer however sees otherwise amidst intense criticisms that suggests the Black Stars is getting worse by the day under his tenure.

"We are serious people and we first need to sit, talk and make assessment," he said.

"For instance our loss in the semi finals (against Zambia) is the first (competitive) game we lose during one year.

"For me I think Ghana played good football in this competition but we were unfortunate with injuries and sending offs.

"Ok, the people (Ghanaians) are not satisfied with fourth position but I am sure the people are satisfied with the way we played.

"Because I know how Ghana played before and I know how they play now. On the pitch I think there is a difference."
