Strasbourg finally decide to keep in-demand Ghana defender Alexander Djiku

Strasbourg have decided against selling experienced Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku in the summer transfer window. 

The Black Stars centre-back has attracted interest from several clubs in the window and was close to joining TSG Hoffenheim before the deal fell through.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray and Bournemouth are reported to be interested in the services of the Montpellier-born Ghanaian.

However, Strasbourg want to keep the 28-year-old till the end of his contract in 2023.

Manager Julien Stéphan wants to continue working with Djiku, who is currently the most experienced defender in his squad.

Djiku's contributions is highly appreciated at Strasbourg and has been a key member and a leader in the team.

His currently deal expires in June 2023.

Djiku started in both games this season in Ligue 1, playing against AS Monaco and OGC Nice.
