Striker Stephen Manu set for Kotoko return

New Edubiase United striker Stephen Manu is on the verge of returning to giants Asante Kotoko after agreeing personal terms.

Manu moved to the Gyemfis Park last season and scored 6 goals in 12 matches but was forced out of action for the second half of the season through injury.

The lanky striker was transfer-listed at the end of last season by then head coach Ebo Mends.

Manu will cost the club GH?40,000 (US$ 27,000) to move back to the Baba Yara Stadium.

He told Kumasi-based Angel FM: ''It?s true I have been in contact with Kotoko and have agreed on personal terms to play for them provided they can meet the requirements of my current employers."

"I would have liked to stay at Edubiase but they are a bit reluctant in meeting my demands so am sure of leaving the club for Kotoko where I have been before."

Reports are rife the deal is expected to be completed by the close of the week to enable the striker have undergo medical.

    u are both right,,,, de club shd use de current team as criteria for bringing in somebody,,,can anybody convince me dat, stephen manu can replace de likes of toure,,nat if they re not around?,,,is his standard up to them? why are we in a haste to recruit sub standard materials,,,eeeeei asante kotoko,,why do we always repeat our past mistakes,,,eyes are watching

    This is pure balderash. On what basis are they buying this guy? What qualities does he bring? we have Nafiu Iddrissu, Nathaniel, TOure, K.Asamoah etc, how better is this guy compared to the above players. I wonder what our recruitment policy is for this season. Who is in charge of the recruitment? We seem to be buying dead horses. First it was Dong Bortey, Aziz Ansah, and now this. Haba, what have we the fans done to be treated this way?
