Sulley Muntari linked with Newcastle move

Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari has been linked with a move to English side Newcastle United with just 12 days before the transfer window shuts.

The Inter Milan ace looks likely to be frozen out by the Italian side if he stays there for the start of the season.

Even though the left-footer has insisted that he wants to stay at the club, early indications from pre-season matches shows that he is not in first team plans.

Now the English media has widely reported that Newcastle are keen on signing him on a permanent contract.

Muntari's agents in England, SkySports Management, are confident he can get a move to a top four club in the Premier League.

Despite him initially being a £14million signing for Jose Mourinho in 2008, Inter are ready to cut their losses and sell him for a nominal fee.

Muntari put in a transfer request in January which was confirmed by Marco Branca and he subsequently went on loan.

He remains part of the Italians' squad but they are keen to streamline their wage budget and he is eager to get back to playing on a regular basis.
