Sunderland captain O'Shea urges Allardyce to keep playing two upfront

Sunderland captain John O'Shea has urged manager Sam Allardyce to keep attacking.

O'Shea has urged Sam Allardyce to persist with two strikers in Sunderland's bid for Premier League safety.

The Black Cats won away from home for just the second time since February on Monday night thanks to Jermain Defoe's late goal at Crystal Palace.

"We know what he [Defoe] can do in front of goal and hopefully we can get him and Fletch [Steven Fletcher] on the pitch together more often because we know he will cause teams problems. The manager is trying to find a system where he can accommodate them both.

"It's what kept us up last season, keeping clean sheets but knowing you have a threat at the other end.

"We have players who are going to create problems."
