Emmanuel Adebayor is amongst several personalities to pay tribute to departed Ghana FA Vice President Jordan Anagblah.
The 55-year-old football administrator surrendered to death after battling illness on Thursday morning at the SSNIT Hospital.
The news have left many especially those who worked closely with him as players and administrators in shock and disbelief.
Anagblah’s impressive work especially through the youth ranks was epitomized when he led the Ghana U-20 team to win Africa’s first World Cup in Egypt 2009.
Most of the players in that world conquering squad are today holding key roles in the Black Stars but they are not the only ones to acknowledge the immense contributions made by the Greater Accra RFA boss.
“We all heard the bad news yesterday not only in Ghana but the whole of Africa,†Emmanuel Adebayor told GHANAsoccernet.com.
“Mr. Jordan is a well known person in African football and we need to show lovem show respect and sympathy to his family because they must be going through a difficult moment.
“It has been tough because we are here on holidays, we are here to have fun and we heard this bad news but we pray and hope the good Lord gives him a good resting place.â€
Daniel Opare who was a member of the Ghana U-20 team in 2009 added: “Anagblah is like a father to all of us since my days with the U-20.
“I speak Ewe with him because we are from the same place. All of us will go one day and hopefully we will meet him at a good place.â€
“He has been a great father I would say to the nation,†Rahim Ayew said.
“All this is for Mr. Jordan and we will make sure we will organize this (memorial game) every year to remember him.â€
David Addy another member of the 2009 U-20 team also said: "We had a very sad day yesterday. We are mourning now but we need to be strong through this difficult time."
Tributes have also pored in from football’s world governing body (Fifa) and the Confederation of African Football (Caf).
