Swansea City supporters have reacted with doubts over whether Ghana coach Avram Grant is the right man to steer their club out of relegation after rumours claimed he was being considered for the post.

The task of appointing a new manager after the sacking of Gary Monk took a shocking twist today, with the rumours that the Swans hierarchy are interested in talking to former Chelsea and West Ham boss Avram Grant about the vacant managerial position at the Liberty Stadium, according to GHANAsoccernet.com.

The Israeli boss hasn’t managed in the Premier League for five years after he was sacked by West Ham, during a season which saw the Hammers got relegated to the Championship.

But he has re-established himself with some heroics with Ghana after steering them to the final of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after just one month in charge.

When the news of Gary Monk’s departure broke, there were many names instantly linked to the post, including former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers, and ex Man United boss David Moyes.

The apparent interest in Avram Grant has come out of the blue, and whilst the Israeli has had some limited success in English football, after being a penalty kick away from winning the Champions League in 2008, his appointment at Swansea would be a strange one.

Check out the view of some confused Swansea fans below.
