Daniil Medvedev will remain world number 1 at least until the end of the Masters in Cincinnati
Medvedev reached the Los Cabos, Mexico, ATP250 tournament by defeating Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic (7-6) (7-0), (6-1) in the semifinals. The Russian defeated Rinky Hijikata and Ricardas Berankis on his way to the decisive stage.
In theory, Medvedev could lose his world number one ranking after the Cincinnati tournament. He could be displaced by the Spaniards Rafael Nadal or Carlos Alcaraz.
