In-form Ghanaian striker Patrick Twumasi scored his second goal in two Champions League games as he fired FC Astana in-front in their 1-1 stalemate with Turkish giants Galatasaray on Tuesday night.

The 21-year-old gangling forward ghosted into the Galatasaray box unmarked and applied a powerful volley to a Dmitriy Shomko incisive cross to the bottom right with Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera stretched to his elastic limit.  (Click here to watch video of the goal)

Twumasi and his Astana side went into the game to frustrate Galatasaray and attempt to secure a ticket in the Europa League competition.

The goal was his fifth in this season's competition after scoring thrice in the preliminary rounds.

And, the Ghanaian international got them to fine start when he shot them ahead in the 62nd minute but the host cancelled out the goal two minutes later.

Twumasi, a former Sogakope Red Bull Academy graduate, scored in the last round of games in the competition as he netted against Benfica at the Astana Arena.

He was banned by FIFA for six games for a controversial offence against Finnish side HJK Helsinki but he returned from suspension strongly scoring twice on a row.
