New Edubiase United won

Attacker Zuberu Fuseini scored the only goal of the game for New Edubiase as the Movers recorded their maiden win of the season, beating Ebusua Dwarfs 1-0 at the Len Clay Stadium on Friday.

The 23-year-old outsmarted Dwarfs defender Ibrahim Musah inside the box after Prince Antwi had failed to deal with a corner kick.

Edubiase dominated proceedings but Dwarfs needed to salvage a decent result from the game.

Dwarfs had a decent penalty call ignored by referee E R Binney after Bright Lukman continued to look for his first goal in the top-flight.

The forward liner, who netted 30 goals to propel the Mysterious Club to promotion from the second-tier, was held tight by the Edubiase defence who jealously protected their slim lead.

Dwarfs coach J E Sarpong paraded experienced midfielder Michael Insaidoo and Nicolas Gyan in his squad for the game.

But Edubiase took the game to the visitors with quality attacking football epitomised in the philosophy of tactician Anthony Commey who is building another winsome side after the departure of several quality players.

Defensive midfielder Tahiru Malik, who was voted MOTM, displayed brilliant abilities of Lassana Diarra standards and provided vision in the middle.

Though Dwarfs battled strongly in the second-half they were denied by the brilliance of the Edubiase goalkeeper and the toughness of the host defence.
