Video: Gyan happy to step up to the plate for Ghana

Published on: 29 January 2012

Asamoah Gyan says he had to take responsibility when the going was getting tough for Ghana during Saturday's 2-0 Nations Cup win over Mali.

The Al Ain striker stepped up to expertly dispatch a free kick to put the Black Stars ahead when at a point it seemed Ghana had no way of scoring.

The 26-year-old again played a role by teeing up Andre Ayew whose added individual brilliance fetched Ghana the second goal and subsequently the second consecutive win of the tournament.

And Gyan says he is always happy to rise to the challenge and deliver whenever needed.
