Striker Michael Sarpong opened the scoring as Young Africans beat Ruvu Shooting Stars 2-1 on Sunday to remain top of the Tanzanian Premier League.
A poor clearance inside the box dropped in front of Sarpong and the former Dreams FC player shot home for the first goal after 32 minutes.
Yanga went into the break with the lead.
After the hour mark, Ruvu Shooting Stars were level through David Richard who intercepted a clearance inside the box to finish off.
In the 65th minute Young African regained their lead after Tuisila Kisinda converted a spot kick after a handball incident.
