Deputy coach of the Black Starlets Yaw Preko says his outfit will be looking to stop Ivory Coast from having much of ball possession in the semi-final of the WAFU Zone B U17 tournament in Niger on Wednesday.

The Black Starlets defeated Togo 2-1 on Saturday to finish Group A leaders with four points from two matches.

The two-time world champions will play the Les Elephants who finished second in Group B on goal difference but tied on points with leaders Nigeria.

Ivory Coast have won raves of praise with their possession-game football, but Ghana's deputy trainer Yaw Preko says they have mapped out a plan to nullify their threat on Wednesday.

"You don't allow academy boys to have lion share of ball possession. They play just like WAFA, build play from the back, and they like taking a lot of risk but we have studied them. Yesterday we practiced about it in training so we believe by tomorrow the boys will be up for the job" Preko told team's Media Officer Odiasempa Kwame Oware.

“The boys are brimming with confidence after the win against Togo so they are aware that we need to win to advance to the final. I know they are all prepared for the game.

Ghana will face the winner of the game between hosts Niger and Nigeria in the final should they overcome young Elephants.

The winners of the competition will progress to the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Tanzania.
