The Black Satellites and the Cote d’Ivoire U-20 team will battle it out for the top spot in Group B in the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-20 tournament at the Stade de Gaulles in Porto-Novo on Saturday.

Precious Boah’s late free-kick gave Ghana a 1-0 win over Nigeria in their opening game on Wednesday.

The Satellites scored the only goal of the game in the 77th minute.

The slim win gave Ghana sweet revenge against one of the country’s old nemesis, Nigeria.

The win qualified Ghana to the semi-final stage of the competition.

Ivory Coast held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in their first game and can book a place in the semi-finals should they secure a good result against the Black Satellites.

Group B consists of three teams and Ghana’s win over Nigeria on Wednesday meant the Flying Eagles have been eliminated from the competition.

Speaking ahead of the game, Black Satellites coach Abdul Karim Zito said, “We were fortunate to have watched Nigeria played Cote D’Ivoire, we missed the first thirty minutes of the game. But we were here when they played since we drew a bye.

“Yes, for now, I don’t have a problem thinking about qualification, they will have to fight to qualify so I think it will be a nice game.

“They will come at us just as Nigeria did today. For now, I’m not thinking of Cote D’Ivoire. I’m going home to rest and think of what to do next”, he added.
