Newly-promoted Premier League club Wassaman United have appointed Kurt Okraku as its general manager with immediate effect, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The MBA in Football Administration holder’s immediate brief is to oversee the raising of a solid team ahead of the Premier League campaign which starts on October 9.

And the 41-year-old says he can’t wait to get started at his new club.

“I am very excited by this appointment and I believe it presents a fresh challenge, one I am really looking forward to,” he exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I aim to ensure that Wassaman presents a very competitive and exciting team for the upcoming Premier League.”

Okraku was until recently the administrative manager of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) but was suspended for 'lapses in the discharge of his duties'. He later resigned from this post.

His impressive works with the Ghana FA Cup Committee is widely believed to have landed him his new job.

The club will begin its pre-season training on Tuesday at the Police Depot in Accra.

All old and prospective new signings for the club are expected to report at 10 am to justify their inclusion.
