Nominated Rookie of the Year at Columbus Crew last season, Edward Opoku is gradually establishing his name in the history of the Gold and Blacks. 

Opoku was drafted from the University of Virginia in 2018 after earning a scholarship from Ghana's leading Academy, the Right to Dream Academy.

The 22 year old started his journey from the little town of Odumase-Konongo in the Ashanti Region before joining the Right to Dream Academy, where his dream of becoming a professional football was nurtured.

Opoku like many other products of the Academy share stories of "Grass to Grace" and at the Nike headquarters in the United States, the Columbus Crew winger told the story of his journey.
