Watford striker Troy Deeney does not want Aston Villa to be relegated this season, despite being a boyhood Birmingham City fan.
Deeney's goal in the Hornets' 3-1 win over Villa on Saturday left the West Midlands club rooted to the bottom of the table with just five points from 14 matches.
However, Deeney said he hopes Birmingham's fierce rivals maintain their Premier League status.
"I'm a Brummie lad so I don't want any Midlands team not to be doing well. I want us all to do well and hopefully they can pick up," Deeney said.
"But if they don't I'm not going to be crying, let's put it that way."
