Published on: 19 June 2010

Italian referee Roberto Rosetti has been appointed to take charge of Ghana's second Group D opener against Australia on Saturday in Rustenburg.

Rosetti started refereeing in 1983, and took charge of his first match in the Italian Serie A in 1996.

He received his Fifa Badge in 2002 and handled the Euro 2008 final match between Germany and Spain.

Rosetti was untainted by the match-fixing scandal which affected Italian football in 2006.

He is fluent in Italian, English and French.
