Yahaya Mohammed eyes Ghana Premier League top scorer award next season

Aduana Stars forward Yahaya Mohammed has set his eyes on the Ghana Premier League top scorer award ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Yahaya was in contention for the goal king award in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League which was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The former Asante Kotoko forward has scored 11 goals for the Ogya lads and was battling it out with former Inter Allies forward Victorien Adebayor for the award.

Yahaya claims he could have finished the season as top scorer if the GPL had continued amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I would have won the goal-King if the league continued and I will win when we begin the new season", he told Kumasi FM.

"My aim was to win the league title, goal king, get a Black Stars call-up and then a foreign move"

Yahaya Mohammed also revealed that he received an offer from clubs abroad following his stellar performance last season but the move couldn't materialize due to COVID-19.

"The foreign offer came, I had the Black Stars call up but COVID damaged the other ambitions"

"Now my aim is to make sure I win the league and of course I will grab the top scorer gong", he added.
