In February, Adu revealed he was readying to travel to Denmark to sign an unnamed before the coronavirus pandemic.

''Yes, they [Zamalek] tried to sign me during the window, I learnt this from Bechem United officials who assured me that Zamalek officials submitted an official offer to join them at the beginning of next season,'' the Bechem United talisman told Albawaba.

''None of them has formally negotiated with me yet, but rather, they contacted the club’s officials and asked them to agree, and so far, I do not know what was agreed between the two parties.

Zamalek have a tradition of signing quality Ghanaian talent including the Emmanuel Quarshie, Felix Aboagye, Junior Agogo, Lawrence Awuley-Quaye, Rahim Ayew and Karim Alhassan.
