Zamalek to have supporters for Berekum Chelsea game

Zamalek will have their home fans’ support when they host Berekum Chelsea in the CAF Champions League on Saturday, the club have confirmed.

This follows the lifting of the seven-month ban on stadium attendance by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior.

"We received official approval from the ministry of interior to hold the Chelsea game at the Military Academy Stadium on 1 September in the presence of our supporters," Zamalek Executive Director Alaa Meqled told the club's official website.

"We have yet to be notified about the number of supporters that will be allowed to attend the game, as we will have a limited audience that should increase gradually."

The news comes as a massive boost to the Egyptian giants who are still searching for that evasive win in Group A after four rounds of matches.

Chelsea on the other hand will have their first taste of the intimidating Cairo crowd which they must manage to silence.

The dethroned Ghana Premier League champions must win to ensure they are still in the running for qualification to the semi-final.
