Ghana forward David Accam scored a classy stoppage-time finish to send Helsingborg IF to the final of the Swedish FA Cup as they defeated Swedish Champions Malmo FF on Thursday afternoon.

The 23-year-old hit-man who has carried the Reds throughout the competition grabbed his sixth goal of the campaign in grand fashion as he sensationally found the net with a trademark finish.

Helsingborg's current form in the Allsvenskan meant the odds did not favour them for a victory over the reigning Swedish lords but a two moments of brilliance inspired by the Ghanaian ensured they reached the final and set a date with Elfsborg who also recorded a 4-1 victory.

A neat sequence of play involving Accam found Swedish youngster Abdul Khalili in space and he finished off with the half-hour mark approaching.

Khalili's first 29th minute effort could not confirm victory for Helsingborg with their bad defensive record this season until stoppage-time when Accam handed them a spot in the grand final with a fabulous finish.

The versatile forward picked the ball with relish and gleefully went through the Malmo defence, beating five players on a role before firing the ball in between the legs of the Malmo keeper to seal the game for Helsingborg.

Before reaching the semis, Accam had bagged 5 goals in the competition and his strike on Thursday has taken his total in the early season to 10 goals in 12 games.fend

The propaganda can never win in the mist of truth. The same way waris made his performance do the talking i know accams continues form will speak for him and on the day he dons the bs jersey against the netherlands he will explode like à dynamite and all will say this Guy is indeed a small pack of dynamite. He will never disappoint.

I know experience is important, but a player is on fire, you can not help but let him explode. I love jordan, but if we have to send only three strikers, then he has to give way to the on-fire Accam. I am also hoping that Afriyie Acquah may squeeze himself in there. I know it would be difficult for AA to leave Jordan behind due to some politics, but you have to do what is right for the nation in particular and your career as a whole. We wait to see the final verdict

Yea i was waiting for more evidence for him to be called up in the squad. But he has justified it. Needs to be in the 23. I think he should replace wakaso we have a lot of MD's and only 3 strikers add one more and make it 4. Gyan waris ayew accam. Wakaso is barley playing. We need active players

Everyone needs to pump their breaks on this kid. 1. AA was the one to call him up last year so he is on the radar. 2. Yes, I agree he deserves a call-up for the friendlies. But I could give two shits, that he is beating up on crappy teams/players in the Swedish league. But you are fooling yourselves if you think Gyan, J Ayew, and Wakaso won't appear to be superstars in the Swedish league as well. 3. We all need to stop putting guys on the 23 man roster who have done shit all when called up for international duty, let them come showcase their form in camp or friendlies to go to Brazil. 4. I am all for giving young guys experience but we can't have too many small boys being pushed off the ball. Even worse playing on a stage that might be too big for them. There needs to be a balance between old dogs and young bucks. Finally, I will ignore the Gyan comment because i assumed that's a joke but i can get on board with him or J. Ayew for the winger/forward role. I don't see Wakaso being left off AA's list because his goal rate for the Black Stars is 7 in 16 games since 2012. Right or wrong, it would be hard for any coach during contract year to ditch a consistent player especially when there are lofty expectations.

And you can never exclude Richmond boakye yiadom from the world cup team. A player who is plying his trade in the Spanish league, a league with two teams in the champions league final and one in the uefa cup finals as well.

Efo Edem please be fair to yourself and ask how many opportunities has this kid been given? one. Only one. How many has Jordan been given? a lot. And how many goals has he scored? 2 against Lesotho in the drubbing. Why has Warris suddenly turned indispensable sort of? cause he has been given opportunity together with patience to jeel. Do you remember how Warris sucked in his first game against Cape Verde? but now mention that name and you have confidence in striking depth. When we all were making noise about AA ignoring Addy, he gave him the chance and Addy proved why he is always left out. Why dont we give Accam that same chance to prove himself. I also disagree on the point you made on our player size. A player with the right fitness and physic can never be pushed of the ball if he always gets his balance right

Accam and Atsu are similar in style but because Atsu is his boy he will by all means get over Accam

Kudos Accam! He's really making a strong case for himself for a WC inclusion, I have watched a couple of his videos though still raw buh I think he should be given a shot you never know he could become an asset to the nation. Anyway Mahatma Otoo was also on target for Sogndal in their 2-1 home defeat to almighty Rosenborg BK, seems like my darling boy has started finding his scoring boots in the Norwergian Tippeligaen. 3 goals in his last 3 games its quite impressive indeed hope he continue banging in the goals like that till the end of the season and I wont be surprised to see him in one of the elite leagues, I wonder why GSN hasn't reported on that cuz the game was finished many hours ago. Our young players are doing very well in their respective clubs and that really looks good for our football, the future is indeed bright.
