Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah admits USA will be difficult to crack but confident his charges can rise up to the occasion at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

The Africans will open their group G campaign against the Americans before meeting Germany and Portugal.

The Black Stars will go into the encounter brimmed with saturated confidence after beating their opponent in the last two editions of the tournament in Germany and South Africa in 2006 and 2010 respectively.

Appiah watched his side demolish South Korea 4-0 in their last pre-World Cup warm-up game in Miami on Monday and remains bullish about their chances.

"The United States are a very, very good team," Appiah said.

“"It's not going to be easy. We have to make sure our players are playing their roles well.

“We hope to give them a very good game."

    Kwasi Appiah, the only thing USA cannot stand is our strong midfield. These are my recommendations: 1. Please fill up the midfield. 2. Make sure Essien, Kwadwo Asamoah and Muntari form the core of the midfield. 3. KP Boateng will have to understand that he needs to work. This is not a game where he has to show off his playmaker nonsense. He has to work and do the runnings from centre circle to the penalty box 4. We need fast and strong players who will wear out the Americans so keep Rabiu and Jordan on the bench. They must come on and keep the game in speed mode. 5. I must specifically warn against using Kwadwo Asamoah and Essien in defence. If you will use these midfielders in defence, what is the essence of the defenders you added to the team? Let players play in their original positions

    please the appropriate position for kwadwo is the left back. accept that afful is a flop. if really it was andre which made kwadwo effective then lets suggest to the coach to send andre to the right so that he can track back and support opare in defence then the coach to should send muntari to the left to be tracking back to support kwadwo at left back. we need essien in the middle. we dont need muntari and kwadwo in the middle. kwadwo's creativity is rather seen properly when he is at left back and bursting forward. put kwadwo in the middle or left wing and he may remained annonymous almost throughout the gane.

    Use players at their rightful places...Slow their speed down with our free flow soccer...use Kumasi strategy against Egypt;;;;

    Against the USA Opare or Inkoom must start on the right and Afful can go back to his favored left full back position. Kwadwo Asamoah can go back to his natural left wing back position. I prefer Sumaila to John Boye in the middle along with Jonathan Mensah. Dede on the right wing. Essien and Muntari to anchor the middle in front of the back four. Kevin in front of Muntari and Essien and Gyan up top as the lone striker. This offers a team that is skilled and experienced enough and can control and manage the game well. They can slow the game down with short accurate passes and will not panic under pressure. This also blends the Black stars youth and experience extremely well. The USA is ranked 13th and Ghana 37th. I am big on the FIFA ranking but not this time, not with Ghana. We have not been able to assemble and marshall all our big guns until the World Cup so we might as well take advantage and use them. We might not see these guys together in a World Cup again! PS. Not starting Kwarasey in the USA game will be a shame. The guy is coming off a double championship season in the Norwegian league while Dauda was riding the bench at Sundowns. Kwarasey's display against the Netherlands was magnificent. Unless Kwarasey is not 100% due to injury he should man the posts.

    Yes,it is going to be difficult but will eventually claim maximum points(hopefully) Kwadwo Asamoah has to play in the middle or should I say on the flanks? People say Kwadwo Asamoah did well against Korea,forgetting that he had Dede on the left side of midfield who tracked back to help him out,Afful on the other hand didn't have such support hence Afful was exposed to the korean attacks.Having Dede and Asamoah on the flanks, they will always track back to help the fullbacks therefore Kwadwo Asamoah has to play in the middle of the park,moreover he gives us so much creativity in the midfield together with Ayew.We can't afford to lack creativity in the middle of the park especially against Germany and Portugal. KPB has to up his game,We want to see the KPB of 2010.Bra Kevin Please. Rabiu is in great shape and has to start.Looking at our strikeforce,I think we are good to go.Come on Ghana. Our defence have to stand strong and firm,they have to believe in themselves(they are good but lack confidence)be initiative,clear the lines,if you have to,keep the the ball if you have,don't be caught in two minds,be bold in your decision making. Our defence can make or break us.You can't let us down(Mensah,Boye,Opare,Sumaila,Inkoom and Afful) You can't let us down. Lets go.
