Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila has declared himself fit and available for selection to face Germany in Saturday’s crucial Group G match.

The 21-year-old had a swollen toe and was forced off training on Wednesday.

Team doctor Baba Adamu had said the Mamelodi Sundowns player would be assessed to see if he can recover in time to offer head coach Kwesi Appiah options.

But Sumaila has revealed that  he is ready to play.

“I am feeling very ok with no pains. I didn’t think I could feel this way earlier in the week but things have really moved on very fast,” the centre-back told Africanfootball.com

“The game against the U.S was a hard pill to swallow but we have decided to move on from it and focus on the game against the Germans.”

Ghanaian players choose the wrong position to play.

Example take Wakaso and Philip Lahm, who is talentué?

    Yet Lahm plays Defense.

Take Dani Alves and Albert Adomah which is yet talentué Dani Alves plays defense.

Everyone wants to play midfield for years Ghana has no defender Lateral left and he is a player talentué as Kwadwo who plays defense.

    Wakaso can play left defender.

Albert Adomah can play right defender.

  2. Kofi USA says:

We cant afford penalties in a must win game.
Moreover, the Germans are too tall for him.

  3. Blow says:

Akwasi, give this guy the necessary fillip, encouragement, whatever, to play against the Germans cause we need the strength, height and lastly natural defenders with lots of experience.
At this time in his career, you can not pin Essien down at the center half as he is clearly afraid of tackles. Essien’s position should be in front of defence to instigate transitions and never again punish Sumaila for kicking Arjen Rubben, instead make a finish product out of him.
