Striker Abdul Majeed Waris showed tremendous progress from the treatment room by returning to training on Friday in Maceio.

He lasted the entire duration at the Estadio Rei Pele after missing Thursday exercise which was closed to the public.

Waris suffered a thigh injury during the team's final warm-up match on Monday against South Korea in Miami.

It was initially feared he was going to miss the tournament but the 22-year-old has made a quick than recovery from injury.

The 22-year-old must pass the fitness test to be available for Ghana’s opener against USA on Monday in Natal.

Waris is one of Ghana’s key attacking player after netting nine goals in 16 appearances for relegated Ligue 1 side Valenciennes.
