Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is at variance with head coach Kwesi Appiah saying he deserved to start in Monday’s 2014 FIFA World Cup clash against USA.

Boateng admitted he was surprised to be left out of the starting line-up in their 2-1 defeat in Natal in their Group G opener.

He came on in the 59th minute to replace Jordan Ayew and helped the Black Stars level the scoring through Andre Ayew on 82 minutes.

But Ghana were undone by a late John Brooks header after 86 minutes to hand the Yanks their first ever win over Ghana in international football.

“I am surprised I did not start yes. I know that you always start with your strong team but may be the Coach had a different idea,” the Schalke 04 playmaker told the media after the match.

Boateng is expected to start in Ghana next match against Germany-his country of birth-on Friday.

Ghana must win that match or face early elimination from the tournament.

Kevin is right, you start with your strong team but if he wants to start a world cup game, then he needs to play in the qualifications. he made it difficult for the coach to start him. I am more surprise at leaving Ainooson of Kotoko at home. Also when the going get tougher any good coach will know Opare was struggling. I have always campaigned for him him but what I saw yesterday was ridiculous. probably his last Blackstar game until he learn to cross a ball. Essien should have taken his place and Atsu should have been left to play on the wings

You see,Akwasi appiah why didn't you bring in Boateng,Afoul,Aquarh,Badu,Nkum this are strong prayers as a coach you have to used for a tough game like this. Why Appiah, you have to go and coach a local team not Black Star please GHANAIANS ARE NOT JOCKING AT ALL.

Supporting us to do well will be for your own good because FIFA will ends up increasing African continental slots. This the highest point of football. Who cares if Germany and Portugal beats the Black stars. lol.How Pathetic!

There is also no personalized gate keeper to lock the stadia so that your friends train on the tar mac. Puauauauauauauauauauahahahahhahahahahahah.... lelo lelo lelo. Of course these guys must only beat Portugal with a very large margin, because both themselves and USA will lose to Germany. Also they should wish that USA loses to Portugal. What a shame! Asa was played out of position, Adomah had no business on the pitch and J mensah nids to up his play and the Crosses and shooting, hmmm tooo bad. Kwasi Appiah is clearly not up to the task. He does not understand strategy and technicalities. He should be coaching a local club not the Black Stars at the World Cup. HIs trial and error thing is just unacceptable at this level. Christian Atsu? Ah, second class player. And Jordan Ayew. Because he scored a hat-trick, he should start. Appiah is an ignorant coach. You can make these mistakes at the AFCON, BUT AT THE WORLD CUP? No, this is out of the world. Ghana cannot beat Germany. We should just forget. He played as if he was playing for himself. He took decisions that he himself understood. So he should face the music. He is a FOOL!

On Any NORMAL day, Serious teams like Netherlands will never drop In form Experinced forwards like Van Persie for Memphis Depay or Wijnaldum. England will play with Roonie and loose than bench him for half of the game. Neymar will never be on the bench against any opposition in the world cup when he is fit! Akwasi Appiah is taking too long to get rid of his inferiority complex against strong teams! Why take Atsu to his FIRST worldcup and drop Kevin Prince Boateng for Atsu to play 60 minutes!! in a must win encounter You saw the chap has talent yes but on the world stage EXPERIENCE IS INVALUABLE. You did the same for Afcon 2013, where did showcasing these new talents take us? I feel like we invest so much to give our players experience and then whe it is time to reap them we bring in Freshies again. I bet afcon 2013 will still see new players starting ahead of in form experienced ones. A.A need to learn from this and get rid of his underdog tactics against strong opposition in order to become a better coach. WAY FORWARD: From now till our next game, we should let the players relax and tell them not to stress but our group is tough anyway and fewer people expected them to qualify.

How can atsu be ghanas man of the match? People don't know what they say here! Ghana could have found an early equalizer if atsu wld have pass the ball rather than shooting from awkward angles! The game changed the moment this guy was sub because all his touches always makes the YANKS RE-ORGANIZE at the back because of those useless and confusing touches! He has the tendency of cutting in and shooting from awkward angles but the trutj of the matter is that, he was a very poor and wayward shooting abilities and I wasn't surprised that Dede was yelling at him most of the times to release the ball into the yanks third rather than taking those useless shots! Frank achepong is way better than atsu!

@ gada... Mate, watch the match again and u ll appreciate what am saying! He was the most indecisive Ghanaian player in the match! He didn't what he was doing at all but am not surprised people are saying he was good because Ghanaians love players who showboats a lot and thats exactly this guy was doing! In the game, our attacking options against the yanks was thru their left side and luckily us, we scored most of our goals thru the right side of our attack but atsu was confusing to say the least esp in the second half! We knew we couldn't break the yanks down thru the middle and hence attacks thru Beasley side and we had tons of attack from that side but atsu didn't connect well! Sometimes he wanted to cut in and shoot, other times he wants to take on their defenders and but stop suddenly and strangely gives a back pass to opare! There was a time we had three against three but he went for glory and this happens on more than three occasions! His play allow the yanks to organized themselves in the back and I wasnt surprised we raised our game when he was sub! I have already said that too many touches gives opponents time to re orgainsed and thats what atsu was doing thru out!

All he had to do was use common sense to aid the ball out to the sideline to get a goal kick, instead touched the ball to give USA a corner kick and our short defenders were not able to block out. We should kiss the World Cup good bye. Its over. I hope it ends with a new regime at GFA and a new coach SILAS TETTEH.

AA, Ghana feels let down. Ghana's first game against the USA should have been won, or worse case a draw. You could have done that with your first you have a first 11? Of course you do. What is holding you back from playing the top players you have invited to camp. Your first 11 must have played in one of the friendlies...did they? I hope this is a blessing in disguise....but poor decisions have tripled the difficulty of going through the group. Why should we settle for the most difficult path over the manageable route. Beating Germany and Portugal is possible but it is not going to be a walk in the park. So much money, effort and preparation has gone into this WC for the Black Stars to bring joy to the people in that spirit has been dampened. The interest in fielding debuttantes in order to market them has cost a whole nation.

Every time i saw an aerial view of the pitch, mutari and rubio where nowhere to me found. there was no connection between our middle field and fowards .GSN knows nothing about tactics. After the korea game they gave rubio a high rating. and said he was great. i completely disagree with that. muntari/rubio are defence player who cant really defend. In 2010 Muntari started ONLY ONE GAME and that was because Andre Ayew got too many cards. I told my father after the korea game that J.ayew wasnt good enough to start. After one game everyone one wanted him to start. And how can u start Opare after Not playing even ONE MINUTE IN ANY OF THE TWO GAMES. The Kid doesnt know what he is doing. I remember in the Brazil friendly in london two year ago he got a red card in the first half. EVERYONE WANT A LOCAL COACH LOCAL COACH.But BEACUSE HE IS LOCAL COAH THAN WHAT? look at our local league. Appiah should have been fire after African cup b/c he did the same thing the previous coach did and he was fired.USA defense was more inexperience then Ghanas but they had better midfield players.

They are a superpower in politics but when it comes to soccer, we have shown them how the game is played. Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose. At least when it counted we beat them twice. So what have you to say you filthy slum dog from Zambia or wherever you come from, just look at your self and determine whether it makes any sense to waste your time in this forum or it would have been better for you to take a shower and clean your filty ass. Besides selection of the first team. The game was won by the best coach between the two team. Ghana had more talented and skillful players thank he needed, the US didn't have half as much. Yet the US coach was able to steer the game from the touchline. Coach Appiah only seemed to have one plan, there was clearly no plan-B. He could not read the game or steer it from the touchline. The whole world was seeing that Ghana was being wasteful with those long balls into the box, but Appiah either did not see them or didn't know what to do about them.

We lost through sheer hard luck. We outplayed USA. Dr A. Appiah can't be blamed. We've never seen Ghana outplaying US like this before even when we won.
