Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu says his side missed Asamoah Gyan

Ghana stop-gap coach Maxwell Konadu says his side missed the influence of captain Asamoah Gyan despite claiming he was pleased with the performance of duo Majeed Waris and David Accam.

The Black Stars were without influential trio Kwadwo Asamoah, Jordan Ayew and captain and record scorer - Asamoah Gyan through injury and suspension.

Gyan has been Ghana's arrowhead throughout the qualifiers and his absence told on the Ghana team as the attack led by Majeed Waris fired blank and wasted glorious chances.

"Yes we missed Gyan but that is not to say the others did not do well in the game. Waris for instance had a very good game especially in the first-half and Accam came in with little time to warm himself into the game," he told reporters after the game.

Gyan could return to play for Ghana in the final Group E game against Togo on Wednesday in Tamale.
