2016 Africa Women Nations Cup: Black Queens head coach sets semifinals target

The senior female national team of Ghana the Black Queens have targeted a semifinal berth at the upcoming African Women Nations Cup in Cameroon according to the head coach Yusif Basigi.

“Winning the ultimate is paramount for every team that has qualified for the tournament. But first we need to get to the semifinals,” Basigi told GHANAsoccernet.om

Ghana are in a tough group with Nigeria, Mali and Kenya and will have host nation to battle with even if they qualify from the group.

The team is charged ahead of the tournament setting the ultimate as their target but the head coach says his major target is to get to the semifinals of the competition before thinking about the ultimate.

“My target is to get to the semifinals. Then we move on from there.”

Ghana were kicked out of the group stage in the last edition held in Namibia but the side looks determined to better their performance in Cameroon.
