Florence Dadson making waves in US

Ghanaian striker Florence Dadson has been named  as the  NAIA National Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday.

The Robert Morris player was selected because of her performances since the beginning of the month.

She  was chosen out of a pool of conference, independent and unaffiliated groupings.

Dadson recorded a hat trick in a 7-1 win over Chicago land Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Trinity International (Ill.) on 5 October.

She netted a pair of goals, including the game-winning goal, and assisted on two others in a 6-0 blanking of Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) on 8 October.

Behind her offensive showing, the 20th-ranked Eagles improved to 9-2-1.

The 18-year-old is listed among the nation's top 10 in four statistical categories:

fourth in total goals (15), fifth in points per game (3.0) and seventh in goals per game (1.25) and total points (36).
