Adomah left out of Bristol City squad for Spain, Cardiff move nears
Winger Albert Adomah

Winger Albert Adomah is likely to join an English Premier League side Cardiff City by next week after Bristol City opted not to travel with the Ghanaian to Spain for their pre-season training camp.

The decision means he is likely to join a club in the English top-flight following interest from Cardiff City.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Ashton Gate following relegation to the third tier and revealed last week that they turned down a request from a club.

Adomah, who handed in transfer request last week, will not travel with the rest of the players for the six-day training camp in the Spanish heat.

With Premier League side Cardiff keen on signing the Ghanaian the decision to leave him out of the squad means his move is near.

Now Bristol City head coach Sean O’Driscoll says Adomah future will be sorted out before they return from their training camp in Spain.

“Albert won’t be travelling. He’s put his transfer request in and ideally the situation will be sorted one way or another by the time we come back from Spain," O’Driscoll said.

“I’d be delighted if a committed Albert Adomah wanted to be part of our season, but if he doesn’t then it’s down to another club to make a bid that our club feels is right.”

The Ghana international, who is under contract for the 2013/14 campaign, has been with City since he joined from Barnet in 2010.

He made 41 appearances last season, scoring seven times, but could not stop Sean O’Driscoll’s men from being relegated.
